Steward's Report
Gotham Duke - Late scratching at 8.57pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to an injured right front toe. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Mr. Neo and Jax Bale were quick to begin. Mr. Neo and Simon Told Helen collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Mr. Neo and Simon Told Helen collided approaching the home turn checking Pirate Pete, Mr. Neo and Simon Told Helen. Mr. Neo visibly eased and turned its head out on the home turn and collided with Simon Told Helen checking Nicholas Rose and causing Mr. Neo and Simon Told Helen to lose ground.
Simon Told Helen underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
Mr. Neo underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left chest muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. R. Neocleous regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Mr. Neo was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due committment (by reason of injury). Mr. Neocleous pleaded guilty to the charge, Mr. Neo was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post race samples were taken from Amarillo Highway (1st) and Jax Bale (2nd).
