Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Ridge.
Ridge was quick to begin. Jet Legger and West On Klinger were slow to begin.
Big Fonzie went up with the lids at box rise. Indy Korie, Indy Ghost and Shanlyn Kendall collided soon after the start, checking Shanlyn Kendall. Indy Korie and Indy Ghost collided on the first turn. Jet Legger and West On Klinger collided on the first turn, checking West On Klinger. Shanlyn Kendall and Jet Legger collided approaching the second turn. West On Klinger checked off Jet Legger approaching the second turn; causing West On Klinger to stumble, falter and lose ground; West On Klinger pulled up on the third turn. Indy Ghost checked off Indy Korie in the back straight. Shanlyn Kendall checked off Indy Ghost approaching the home turn.
West On Klinger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race five. West On Klinger was found to have right foreleg monkey and left foreleg chest muscle injuries. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr P Riley, the handler of West On Klinger regarding it's performance in this event. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Riley to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of West On Klinger in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Supplementary Report 24.04.21:
Trainer Mr R Britton reported to Stewards that upon examination the greyhound West On Klinger presented no further injury.
