Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face masks, observed social distance requirements, and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
Alabama Cruise and Whodat Diva were slow to begin. Shim Cam and Bluesette Queen collided on the first turn checking Bluesette Queen and Alabama Cruise. Shim Cam and Nitro Shelby collided on the first turn. Alabama Cruise, Whodat Diva and Deed Of Shianne collided approaching the second turn. Nitro Shelby and Bluesette Queen collided on the second turn checking Bluesette Queen. Nitro Shelby and Deed Of Shianne collided approaching the home turn. Whodat Diva and Alabama Cruise collided entering the home straight. Nitro Shelby marred Shim Cam in the home straight severely checking both greyhounds. Alabama Cruise and Whodat Dive collided in the home straight. Whodat Dive raced wide in the home straight.
Bluesette Queen underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Nitro Shelby underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Garry George, the trainer of Nitro Shelby regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Nitro Shelby was charged with marring. Mr. George pleaded guilty to the charge, Nitro Shelby was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
