Steward's Report
Chasing Chops, Rival Wiggy and Alfie Rocks collided soon after the start. Alfie Rocks, Rival Wiggy and Mr. Hillbilly collided approaching the first turn checking Rival Wiggy. Alfie Rocks and Mr. Hillbilly collided on the first turn. Mr. Hillbilly and Viking Junior collided approaching the home turn. Rival Wiggy and Viking Junior collided on the home turn checking Rival Wiggy. Viking Junior eased in the home straight. Bag Secured and Island Chief collided several times in the home straight.
Viking Junior underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Paul Galea regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Viking Junior was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Galea pleaded guilty to the charge, Viking Junior was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Brayden Klemke regarding the racing manners of Bag Secured in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Klemke, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
