Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Got Girl.
Woolybully Keats and Got Girl collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Woolybully Keats and Dr. Carmel collided on the first turn. Molly's Lass checked off Aston Grenache on the first turn. Berdeen and Aston Grenache collided on the first turn. Dr. Carmel checked off Molly's Lass on the home turn. Woolybully Keats checked off Aston Grenache entering the home straight. Dr. Carmel and Aston Grenache collided entering the home straight. Dr. Carmel crossed in, visibly eased and turned it's head checking Molly's Lass in the home straight.
Dr. Carmel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Ms. J. McMahon regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Dr. Carmel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Dr. Carmel was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
