Steward's Report
Freddie Cruiser was quick to begin. Nicholas Rose was slow to begin. Leo Rose, Nicholas Rose and William Rose collided approaching the first turn. Freddie Cruiser and Keiki collided on the first turn. Leo Rose, Freddie Cruiser and Keiki collided on the first turn checking Keiki causing Freddie Cruiser to fall. Leo Rose checked off William Rose approaching the home turn. Why Not Colby and Sweet Demi collided several times on the home turn. Sweet Demi eased in the home straight and turned it's head outwards approaching the winning post.
Freddie Cruiser underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right radius/ulna fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Sweet Demi underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. J. McMahon, the representative of Sweet Demi regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Sweet Demi was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Sweet Demi was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2)(a) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track from the first turn to the home turn and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.
