Impress Shades and Blue Tiger were quick to begin.
Aston Fastnet crossed to the rail approaching the first turn and checked off Stiff Wind checking Mepunga Reject and He Shall Blitz. Aston Fastnet and Mepunga Reject collided on the first turn checking Mepunga Reject. Impress Shades and People Get Ready collided approaching the second turn. Impress Shades and Stiff Wind collided on the second turn. People Get Ready checked off Stiff Wind in the back straight. He Shall Blitz checked off Mepunga Reject approaching the home turn. People Get Ready and Rhonda Lily collided on the home turn.
Impress Shades underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have lacerations to the left and right forelegs . A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Post-race samples were taken from Blue Tiger (1st) and Aston Fastnet (2nd).
