Steward's Report

An out of competition sample was taken from Aston Paquin on 10 December, 2020 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Aston Paquin crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Have A Roadie and severely checking Mr. Bar Wicked which fell as a result. Zipping Liz and Aston Paquin collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn. Way To Important and Maggie Pie collided on the first turn checking Maggie Pie. Have A Roadie and Maggie Pie collided approaching the home turn checking Have A Roadie. Kratos Bale and Way To Important collided on the home turn. Aston Paquin eased in the home straight.

Mr. Bar Wicked underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.

Aston Paquin underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 11. Aston Paquin was found to have a spike wound around the left eye, an injury to the right pencil muscle and bruising to the left forearm and tibia. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Craig Webb, regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Aston Paquin was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Webb pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Paquin was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
