At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 26.90 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.10 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Whakahoro and Dr. Danika were slow to begin. Wild Nippa And Dr. Danika collided soon after the start. Dr. Santiago and Invictus Rising collided approaching the first turn. Tarlee And Dr. Santiago collided on the first turn. Aztec Blaze crossed out approaching the home turn and checked off Dr. Macie checking Aztec Blaze and Whakahoro. Wild Nippa and Dr. Danika collided entering the home straight.
