In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 26.90 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.10 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

Whakahoro and Dr. Danika were slow to begin.  Wild Nippa And Dr. Danika collided soon after the start.  Dr. Santiago and Invictus Rising collided approaching the first turn.  Tarlee And Dr. Santiago collided on the first turn.  Aztec Blaze crossed out approaching the home turn and checked off Dr. Macie checking Aztec Blaze and Whakahoro.  Wild Nippa and Dr. Danika collided entering the home straight.

Black Avenger was quick to begin.  Harrigan and Barwidgi were slow to begin.  Tom The Cheap and Black Avenger collided approaching the first turn.  Tom The Cheap, Black Avenger and Dr. Francisco collided on the first turn.  Black Avenger and Dr. Francisco collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Dr. Wade and Dr. Francisco collided on the home turn.  Tom The Cheap turned its head inwards several times in the home straight and collided with Barwidgi. Black Avenger was checked off Tom The Cheap in the home straight causing Black Avenger to collide with Harrigan.

Tom The Cheap underwent a post race veterinary examination and found to have an injured right triangle muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms. R. Gibbons regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1) Tom The Cheap was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Gibbons pleaded guilty to the charge, Tom The Cheap was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72 before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rocky Point and Limiting collided soon after the start and again on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Major Gilbert and Rocky Point collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Dr. Xander and Dundee Ember collided approaching the home turn.

Sweet Chanelle was quick to begin.  Jebrynah Octave was slow to begin.  Zipping Whoopi and Jebrynah Octave collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Especial One brushed the running rail on the first turn and collided with Hurricane Keely checking Especial One, Kratos Bale And Bag Of Tricks and severely checking Hurricane Keely.  Especial One and Bag Of Tricks collided approaching the home turn.

Done Time and Zipping Higgins were quick to begin.  Dybala and Weeona Bulldozer were slow to begin.  Citadel Of Chaos was checked off Done Time on the first turn.  Pine Gem contacted the running rail on the first turn.  Airly Pablo was checked off Aston Marlon on the first turn.  Citadel Of Chaos and Done Time collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Pine Gem underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the right hind leg.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Bidgee Boy and Equalizer were slow to begin and collided soon after the start checking Equalizer. Leo Rose and Bidgee Boy collided approaching the first turn checking Leo Rose.  Notorious crossed in on the first turn checking Abelero Bale and Zambora Lion.  Leo Rose and Equalizer collided on the first turn.  Equalizer and Zambora Lion collided approaching the home turn checking Equalizer. Bidgee Boy was checked off Equalizer approaching the home turn checking Zipping Bates and Abelero Bale causing Bidgee Boy to lose ground.  Equalizer and Inuka collided entering the home straight checking Inuka and Zambora Lion.

Cruisy’s Special was quick to begin.  Vesper Bale was slow to begin.  Zimmer Bale and Dashing Dante collided on the first turn checking Dashing Dante.  Locked In was checked off Parabellum on the first turn.  Parabellum was checked off Dashing Dante approaching the home turn.

Bad Guy was quick to begin.  Javier Bale and My Faith collided approaching the first turn.  My Faith galloped on What Price Mason on the first turn.  Duke Of Airly and What Price Mason collided on the first turn.  What Price Mason and Weeona Pete collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. My Faith raced wide in the home straight.

Bomber’s Queen was quick to begin.  Bomber’s Queen crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Reverse Outright.  Billy’s The Boss and Bomber’s Queen collided approaching the first turn. Reverse Outright and Billy’s the Boss collided several times approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Full Of Talk and Amazing Roy collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Perfect Skipper was quick to begin. Have A Summer was slow to begin.  Rizzo was checked off Kibitzer on the first turn.  Zothan’s Magic crossed out on the first turn and collided with Kaiden checking Zothan’s Magic, Kaiden and Have A Summer.  Kibitzer and Rizzo collided approaching the home turn.  Zipping Burns and Perfect Skipper collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Jacky’s Eden was quick to begin.  Sweet Antares and Hurricane Red collided on the first turn. Hurricane Red and Weeona Roger collided on the home turn. Purify Virtuoso and Portelli Punk collided in the home straight.

Hurricane Red underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right wrist.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

David Coin - Late scratching at 18.18pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Kyle Brooks was fined $100.

Trash - New declared weight of 35.3kgs, last raced at 33.4kgs.

Curnow Keats was quick to begin.  My Era Rico was slow to begin.  Especial Envy and Captain Cruiser collided on the first turn checking Captain Cruiser.  My Era Rico galloped on Hurricane Pete on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Captain Cruiser and Trash collided on the home turn.  Curnow Keats and Dynamic Ross collided in the home straight.  Hurricane Pete raced wide in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trials:

Gotham Duke - Failed to chase due to injury - Field of 4, 400 metres, Weight 33.5kg, Box 8, Placed first, Time Run 22.44 secs  Cleared all tracks except Horsham and Ballarat.
