A pre-race sample was taken from Mitch Bale.
Mitch Bale was slow to begin.
Esther Bale and Always There collided approaching the first turn. Always There checked off Little Miss Ivy approaching the first turn. Fran Keeping checked off Paw Licious approaching the first turn. Fran Keeping visibly eased approaching the first turn. Little Miss Ivy raced wide on the first turn.
Fran Keeping underwent a post-race veterinary examination and - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Gordon Edwards, the trainer of Fran Keeping regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Fran Keeping was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Edwards pleaded not guilty to the charge, Fran Keeping was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
