Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) lure driver, Mr Chris Chilcott did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
Tears No More was slow to begin.
Zero Time and Beers And Tears collided soon after the start. Westar Misty and Big Wings collided soon after the start. Zero Time and Beers And Tears collided approaching the first turn. Beers And Tears and Westar Misty collided approaching the second turd and again on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Beers And Tears checked off Westar Misty on the third turn. Broken Boots and Tears No More collided in the home straight. Zero Time marred Big Wings approaching the winning post.
Zero Time underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the monkey muscle on both sides and an injury to the left triangle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs Julie Chilcott, the trainer of Zero Time regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Zero Time was charged with marring. Mrs Chilcott pleaded guilty to the charge, Zero Time was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Beers And Tears underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hamstring injury and left shoulder soreness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Greg Turnbull regarding the racing manners of Beers And Tears on the second turn. After hearing evidence from Mr Turnbull, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn.
