He's An Ace and Sarcasmic were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Any Luck and Roots Rock Riot collided soon after the start. Get Real and Rose Royce collided soon after the start. Roots Rock Riot crossed to the rail soon after the start checking He's An Ace. Circumstance crossed in in the front straight checking Who Cry Now, Any Luck and Rose Royce, Rose Royce checked off Any Luck on the first turn checking Who Cry Now and Circumstance. Roots Rock Riot checked off Circumstance in the back straight. Roots Rock Riot and Circumstance collided approaching the third turn. Any Luck and Circumstance collided several times in the home straight.

Circumstance underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right wrist sprain and a left hock sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer - Mr. Mark Delbridge regarding the racing manners of Circumstance in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr Delbridge, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
