Steward's Report
Strike Me Mad and Hornsey's Angel were slow to begin.
Dunbro Royale, Miner Rush and Spectrum collided soon after the start checking Miner Rush. Dunbro Royale and Spectrum collided several times approaching the first turn. Dunbro Royale galloped on the heels of Dreaming Annie on the first turn severely checking Dreaming Annie, Spectrum and Rockafella, Spectrum fell as a result.
Dreaming Annie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh and a spike wound to the left hind leg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Spectrum was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh and a spike wound to the right hind leg. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Rockafella was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Stewards spoke to handler Rayleen Green regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Strike Me Mad. Stewards directed that Strike Me Mad be boxed first in future events.
