Steward's Report
Monday Rose was slow to begin. Swansea Sands and Zipping Layla collided soon after the start. Miss Cyprus faltered approaching the first turn and subsequently pulled up. Briag Thomas and Nimble Icon collided approaching the third turn causing Monday Rose to check off Briag Thomas. Briag Thomas and Nimble Icon collided on the third turn. Monday Rose eased approaching the home turn, entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post checking Briag Thomas.
Miss Cyprus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the left hind back muscle and whip muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Monday Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a graze to the left hind foot. No stand down penalty was applied.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Smith, the handler of the greyhound Monday Rose. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Monday Rose with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Sale and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
