Seabrook Balta checked off Scandalise soon after the start. Scandalise checked off Sweet Sandy approaching the first turn. Seabrook Balta, Paetta Bale and Lektra Little collided on the first turn checking Seabrook Balta and Paetta Bale. Hartland Gus checked off Sweet Sandy on the first turn causing Sweet Sandy to fall. Bell Park Dragon checked off Valka Bale on the first turn. Bell Park Dragon checked off Valka Bale approaching the home turn severely checking Scandalise. Seabrook Balta raced wide on the home turn.
Sweet Sandy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
