Steward's Report
Dr. Lynch was quick to begin. Too Be Sure was slow to begin. Lara's Love and Campanita collided approaching the first turn checking Campanita. Dynamite Des and Lara's Love collided on the first turn. Dynamite Des and Dr. Lynch collided approaching the home turn. Lara's Love and Campanita collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Campanita visibly eased and turned it's head inwards in the home straight and collided with Lara's Love.
Campanita underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Ms. Jones declined the option of having the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Carolyn Jones, the trainer of Campanita regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Campanita was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Campanita was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(A)(2)(a) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
