Steward's Report
Another Easy was quick to begin.
Daph's Wally checked off Mr. America soon after the start checking Zipping Cookie and Zipping Norman. Aston Master checked off Daph's Farrah approaching the first turn. Zipping Cookie and Zipping Norman collided approaching the first turn. Daph's Wally checked off Aston Master approaching the first turn. Zipping Cookie and Daph's Wally collided entering the home straight. Zipping Cookie turned its head inwards and eased approaching the winning post colliding with Daph's Wally.
Zipping Cookie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Handler, Ms R. Church regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Zipping Cookie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Church pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Cookie was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Mr. America - the winner of the event.
