Slingshot Yin and Winnie Grace were quick to begin. Mt. View Jester was slow to begin. Mt. View Pearl checked off Blazin' Jewel on the first turn. Luigi Bale galloped on Our Flying Emma approaching the home turn. Our Flying Emma checked off Blazin'Jewel approaching the home turn. Mt. View Jester and Mt. View Pearl collided on the home turn. Blazin' Jewel and Our Flying Emma collided on the home turn. Winnie Grace visibly eased entering the home straight, checking Mt. View Pearl and Luigi Bale and severely checking Our Flying Emma. Slingshot Yin and Blazin' Jewel collided in the home straight. Luigi Bale and Our Flying Emma collided approaching the winning post. Mt. View Jester, Mt. View Pearl and Slingshot Yin collided approaching the winning post.
Winnie Grace underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Lindsay Fulford regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Winnie Grace was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge; Winnie Grace was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Colin Dalton regarding the racing manners of Our Flying Emma. After hearing evidence from Mr Dalton, viewing all the available race footage and taking into consideration the interference sustained, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Blazin' Jewel - the winner of the event.
