Indy Nevada was quick to begin.
Miss Marley, Nana Rose and Mahogany Queen collided on the first turn. Just A Fidget and Riverdale Shine collided on the first turn. Distant Sun checked off Indy Nevada on the first turn. Nana Rose and Mahogany Queen collided approaching the home turn checking Nana Rose. Riverdale Shine galloped on Nana Rose on the home turn checking Riverdale Shine and Just A Fidget. Miss Marley visibly eased on the home turn. Miss Marley turned its head inwards in the home straight.
Riverdale Shine underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Miss Marley underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind paw, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the representative, Mr P. Bartlett regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Miss Marley was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Bartlett pleaded not guilty to the charge, Miss Marley was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
