Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID–19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4–wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks that in–turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race–day functions and operations.

Fairytale Poppy - Late scratching at 2.26pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a suspected left scapula fracture. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Tainer, Ms D Vigor, regarding the presentation of Fairytale Poppy at today's meeting.  Ms. Vigor advised that she had checked the greyhound prior to the 8.30am scratching deadline and there were no signs of injury but reported to the On-Track Veterinarian that the greyhound appeared to be lame.  Stewards directed that Ms. Vigor present a certificate of soundness pursuant to GAR20 (3) (v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Slingshot Bailey was quick to begin.

Daph's Bella and Scandalise collided soon after the start.  Meteor One, Daph's Bella and Scandalise collided soon after the start checking Daph's Bella and Scandalise.  Kandinsky and Summer Siren collided soon after the start checking Summer Siren.  Scandalise brushed the running rail on the first turn and lost ground.  Meteor One and Daph's Bella collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Meteor One checked off Daph's Bella approaching the home turn.  

King Brown and Fake Shot were quick to begin.  War Drum Express was slow to begin.

Tommy's No Angel galloped on Rakesh approaching the first turn.  Rakesh checked off Fake Shot on the home turn.

Tommy's No Angel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to left fore paw.  No stand down period was imposed.

Indy Nevada was quick to begin.

Miss Marley, Nana Rose and Mahogany Queen collided on the first turn.  Just A Fidget and Riverdale Shine collided on the first turn.  Distant Sun checked off Indy Nevada on the first turn.  Nana Rose and Mahogany Queen collided approaching the home turn checking Nana Rose.  Riverdale Shine galloped on Nana Rose on the home turn checking Riverdale Shine and Just A Fidget.  Miss Marley visibly eased on the home turn. Miss Marley turned its head inwards in the home straight.

Riverdale Shine underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Miss Marley underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind paw, no stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to the representative, Mr P. Bartlett regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Miss Marley was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Bartlett pleaded not guilty to the charge, Miss Marley was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Uringa – New declared weight of 30.3kg, last raced at 31.5kg.

Roger Rocks and Catch Kate collided soon after the start checking Roger Rocks.  Blackpool Pantha checked off Southern Edge approaching the first turn.  Roger Rocks galloped on Catch Kate on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Lektra Loopy checked off Catch Kate approaching the winning post and collided with Roger Rocks.

Solar Life underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. V. Millington regarding the greyhound's racing manner approaching the winning post. After viewing the official replays (head on and side on), acting on their own observations and taking evidence from Mr Millington Stewards took no action.
