Steward's Report
Isotope was quick to begin. Mick's Kimmy and Born A Runner were slow to begin. Born A Runner, Mepunga Holly and His Stop It collided soon after the start. Born A Runner checked off Waldorf approaching the first turn. Waldorf and His Stop It collided entering the front straight. Mick's Kimmy checked off Mepunga Holly in the front straight. His Stop It and Isotope collided on the third turn checking His Stop It. Mepunga Holly checked off Born A Runner approaching the home turn checking Born A Runner. Isotope and His Stop It collided several times on the home turn. Mick's Kimmy visibly eased on the home turn and collided with Mepunga Holly.
Mick's Kimmy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10. Mick's Kimmy was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Peter Crawley regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Mick's Kimmy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Crawley pleaded guilty to the charge, Mick's Kimmy must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
