Steward's Report
Dukey Duke and Tin Shed Fred collided soon after the start. My Girl Kizzy and Stirling Lights collided soon after the start. My Girl Kizzy checked off Stirling Lights approaching the first turn. Tin Shed Fred and Airly Cleaner collided approaching the first turn checking Airly Cleaner. Cougar Icon, Tin Shed Fred and Stirling Lights collided on the first turn checking Cougar Icon and My Girl Kizzy. Stirling Lights and Tin Shed Fred collided on the second turn. Dukey Duke checked off Airly Cleaner entering the back straight checking My Girl Kizzy. Cougar Icon visibly eased approaching the third turn and subsequently pulled up. Dukey Duke and My Girl Kizzy collided several times on the home turn and entering the home straight.
Cougar Icon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10 - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Peter Crawley regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Cougar Icon was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Crawley pleaded guilty to the charge, Cougar Icon is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
