Drumroll Please was quick to begin.
Zipping Annabel and Cool Bourbski collided approaching the first turn. Aston Spinel checked off Black Canvas on the first turn. Black Canvas and Debbie's Destiny collided on the first turn, checking Debbie's Destiny. Black Canvas checked off Zipping Annabel on the home turn. Aston Spinel turned it's head inwards and collided with Zipping Annabel in the home straight, checking Zipping Annabel.
Zoro Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a hamstring and triangle muscle injury to the right hindleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Aston Spinel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have deltoid muscle injury to the right foreleg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the handler, Mrs N Cachia, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Aston Spinel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs N Cachia pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Spinel must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
