Steward's Report
Brute, Mick's Kimmy and Paradise Pippa were slow to begin.
Aston Spinel, Saint Rock and Stepping collided approaching the first turn. Saint Rock and Stepping collided on the first turn, checking Stepping. Mick's Kimmy checked off Stepping on the second turn, checking Paradise Pippa. Saint Rock brushed the running rail entering the back straight. Stepping visably eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight, and then shifted inwards and collided with Aston Spinel.
Stepping underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr B Magri, the trainer of Stepping regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Stepping was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Magri pleaded guilty to the charge, Stepping is suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Bessie's Daisy - the winner of the event.
