Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Morticia and Zulu Walk were quick to begin.  John John Dory was slow to begin.

Morticia raced wide on the first turn.  Little Queeny checked off Maximum Sarah on the first turn.  Supercross checked off Skibo Rebel on the first turn, checking Maximum Sarah.  Little Queeny and Supercross collided on the home turn and again in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.  Morticia raced wide in the home straight.

Brute, Mick's Kimmy and Paradise Pippa were slow to begin.

Aston Spinel, Saint Rock and Stepping collided approaching the first turn.  Saint Rock and Stepping collided on the first turn, checking Stepping.  Mick's Kimmy checked off Stepping on the second turn, checking Paradise Pippa.  Saint Rock brushed the running rail entering the back straight.  Stepping visably eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight, and then shifted inwards and collided with Aston Spinel. 

Stepping underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Mr B Magri, the trainer of Stepping regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Stepping was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Magri pleaded guilty to the charge, Stepping is suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rilynn Bale was quick to begin.  Cryer's Spring was slow to begin.

Rainbow Spirit and Aston Gwen collided soon after the start.  Aston Gwen and Super Zoom Jake collided on the first turn; checking Aston Gwen, Rainbow Spirit and Kinloch Moss.  Rainbow Spirit faltered on the home turn and  tailed off as a result.

Rainbow Spirit underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an open fracture to the left hock   Rainbow Spirit was humanely euthanased.

Following the event, Stewards walked the track in the vicinity of the home turn and deemed the surface suitable for racing. 

Ed Deeds was quick to begin.  Rooster was slow to begin.

Moraine Hayley, Winlock Winner, Dundee Jester and Beaut Deeds collided approaching the first turn; checking Winlock Winner, Dundee Jester and Beaut Deeds.  Rooster checked off Winlock Winner on the first turn.  Dundee Jester checked off Moraine Hayley on the home turn.  Picogram checked off Ed Deeds in the home straight.

Ferdinand Boy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg pencil/whip injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Print The Cash was slow to begin.

Toyed, Made Me Blind and Graceful Light collided soon after the start, checking Made Me Blind.  Molly Byrnes and Graceful Light collided on the first turn, checking Molly Byrnes.

Any Luck and Twinkle Love were slow to begin.

Fleur Burger checked off Wilbur Deeds on the first turn; checking Aston Express, Any Luck, Twinkle Love and Mystic Rose.  Mini Yaala galloped on Cougar Icon on the first turn; severely checking both greyhounds and causing Cougar Icon to fall.  Any Luck and Mystic Rose collided on the home turn.
