Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Aston Odyssey was quick to begin.  Bidgee Boy was slow to begin.  Lil Roughy and Omega Sierra collided soon after the start checking Lil Roughy.  Trout and Omega Sierra collided approaching the first turn.  Trout, Gerry's Lara and Lucero collided on the first turn severely checking Lucero and Gerry's Lara; Gerry's Lara fell as a result.  Lucero raced wide in the home straight.

Gerry's Lara underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising to the right hind leg and stifle area.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Black Hog Ride - Late scratching at 9:50am when Ms. T. Morris reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Omega Cimarron was quick to begin.  It's A Date and Aston Saigo collided approaching the first turn checking It's A Date.  Aston Saigo and Aston Frigate collided on the first turn.  Formidable and Speed Demon collided on the first turn checking Formidable.  Aston Frigate checked off Aston Saigo on the home turn.

A post-race sample was taken from Omega Cimarron - the winner of the event.

Zereva - Late scratching at 11:22am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Invictus Sybil and Aston Rosa were quick to begin.  Omega Carson and Too Be Sure collided approaching the first turn.  Omega Carson checked off Too Be Sure on the first turn.  Aston Rosa checked off Invictus Sybil approaching the home turn.  Invictus Sybil and Aston Rosa collided on the home turn.

Barrabooka was slow to begin.  Aston Kipchoge and Tee Tee collided soon after the start and again on the first turn.  Aston Kipchoge and Tee Tee collided approaching the second turn checking Tee Tee.

Frankie Fever was quick to begin.  Citadel Of Chaos crossed in soon after the start checking Diamond Cartel.  Nowhere Nathe and Loaded collided soon after the start.  Frankie Fever and Old Town Road collided approaching the home turn.

Nowhere Nathe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the right hind foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Mod Squad and Stack were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Soda King and Mod Squad collided approaching the first turn.  Chasing Rex checked off Stack on the first turn.

Lockwood Lad and Just Lovin' It were slow to begin.  Cosmic Sparkle and Sixties Rocker collided approaching the first turn.  Lockwood Lad checked off Sixties Rocker on the first turn.  She Wiggles galloped on Just Lovin' It in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Airly Pablo checked off Impending on the second turn.

Flossy Jo and Aston Toto collided approaching the first turn.  Classic Paws, Flossy Jo and Aston Toto collided approaching the first turn checking Flossy Jo.  Equalizer and Prize Diamond collided on the first turn.  Prize Diamond, Classic Paws, Miss Demonica and Aston Toto collided on the first turn checking Prize Diamond and Classic Paws.  Prize Diamond and Classic Paws collided on the first turn checking Prize Diamond..  Classic Paws and Flossy Jo collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Minter Sparkle was slow to begin.  Diama Miss and Wee Gem collided on the first turn checking Rall's Girl.  Victory Chase and Minter Rise collided on the home turn.  Wee Gem checked off Minter Sparkle on the home turn.

Minter Rise underwent a post-race veterinary examination -  no apparent injury was reported.

After the finishing line, Minter Rise pulled up prior to the return gate, jumped the inside running rail and ran across the infield to the lure that was (by then) parked on the first turn. The Stewards spoke with Trainer Mrs.J.Reinke and discussed the general safety concerns held with this practise for both Minter Rise but also other greyhounds in the race and staff.  Stewards issued a warning to the connections and advised that the greyhound is required to run past the return gate effectively so as to be captured in the catching pen in future.

Euchre John, Delancy Bale and What's Up Skip collided soon after the start checking Euchre John.  Sunshine Spolly checked off Delancy Bale approaching the first turn checking Especial One and Zipping Annabel.  Euchre John raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.  Delancy Bale and What's Up Skip collided on the home turn.  Zipping Annabel and What's Up Skip collided in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Castle Sween upon arrival at the course.
