A pre-race sample was taken from Saharrah Blitz.
Hard At It was slow to begin.
Mister Wingard, Horace Bale and Mister Mercury collided soon after the start checking Horace Bale and Mister Mercury. Saharrah Blitz and Lady Lagertha collided soon after the start. Saharrah Blitz, Gunmandu and Lady Lagertha collided on the first turn severely checking Gunmandu and Saharrah Blitz, checking Bomber's Queen. Mister Wingard and Horace Bale collided approaching the home turn. Mister Mercury raced wide entering the home straight. Hard At It checked off Lady Lagertha in the home straight. Hard At It tired over the concluding stages.
Hard At It underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a leceration to the left stopper. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
