Steward's Report
Rev Up Angel – Late scratching at 1:56 pm when Mrs H Hartigan reported the greyhound to have kennel cough (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Wee Fishin' – New declared weight of 26.1 kgs, last raced at 24.6 kgs.
Mahogany Flame was slow to begin.
Tommy's No Angel and Russian Sub collided approaching the first turn. Tommy's No Angel visably eased and turned its head outwards on the first turn, checking Russian Sub and Wee Fishin'. Tommy's No Angel, Wee Fishin' and Russian Sub collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight, checking all three greyhounds.
Tommy's No Angel underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr M Anstice, the trainer of Tommy's No Angel regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Tommy's No Angel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Anstice pleaded guilty to the charge, Tommy's No Angel is suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
