A sample was taken from Affair Bit upon arrival at the course.
Affair Bit was quick to begin. Victory Chase was checked off Trance approaching the first turn. Portelli Punk and Meat Murphy collided on the first turn checking Meat Murphy. Affair Bit, Hurricane Pete and Zipping Bates collided on the first turn checking Hurricane Pete. Portelli Punk and Hurricane Pete collided entering the home straight.
Victory Chase underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right triangle muscle. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Floyd the trainer of Portelli Punk and issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.
