Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5 m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

John John Dory was slow to begin.

Gizmo Osti turned its head inwards soon after the start.  Speedy Lemon, Night To Burn and Gizmo Osti collided soon after the start, checking Night To Burn.  Speedy Lemon and John John Dory collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn.  Gizmo Osti checked off Paper Plane approaching the home turn.  Night To Burn and Gizmo Osti collided on the home turn, checking Gizmo Osti.

Paper Plane underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left foreleg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Gizmo Osti underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg toe abrasion, a three day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr M Niele regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Gizmo Osti was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Niele reserved his plea to the charge, Gizmo Osti was found guilty as charged and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Local Brew and Peter Thief collided soon after the start, checking Local Brew.  Burner Black and Local Brew collided approaching the winning post, checking Local Brew.

Lalina and Hot Jean were slow to begin.

Gotham Duke, Lalina and Barefoot Barry collided soon after the start, checking Lalina and Barefoot Barry.  Pirates Patch, Rampant Teresa and Johnny Wishbone collided soon after the start, checking Rampant Teresa and Johnny Wishbone.  Lalina, Rampant Teresa and Johnny Wishbone collided on the first turn, checking all three greyhounds.  Hot Jean crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Lalina and Rampant Teresa.  Gotham Duke and Pirates Patch collided entering the home straight and several times in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Speedy Spyro, Coco Nova, Nitro Yap and Magnet Force collided soon after the start, checking Magnet Force, Nitro Yap and Coco Nova.  Snooker Que and Slingshot Pete collided soon after the start, checking Snooker Que.  Magnet Force checked off Coco Nova approaching the first turn.  Slingshot Pete checked off Mepunga Sparkle on the first turn; causing Coco Nova to race wide.  Nitro Yap checked off Coco Nova approaching the winning post.

Crackerjack Nev was slow to begin.

Rotate and Thomeli Boy collided soon after the start.  Imperial Jack and Kipling collided approaching the first turn.  Thomeli Boy checked off Kipling on the first turn, checking Imperial Jack and Kinloch Moss.

Trainer, Mr R Proctor who had multiple runners ,Kid Winslow (1) and Master Winslow (6) and Red Potion (7) engaged in this event advised that Red Potion was scratched in accordance with the rules, due to a hamstring injury. Stewards accepted Mr Proctor's explanation.

Master Winslow was slow to begin.

Go Bezza checked off Burst Of Yap soon after the start.  Kid Winslow and Kurtlee Bale collided on the first turn, checking Kid Winslow.  Go Bezza stumbled on the first turn.

Go Bezza underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Tinker Luke was slow to begin.

Me Silly, Molly Byrnes, Firefly Star and Gotham Princess collided approaching the first turn, checking Molly Byrnes and Firefly Star.  Me Silly and Gotham Princess collided on the first turn; checking Gotham Princess, and severely checking Tinker Luke.  Molly Byrnes and Firefly Star collided on the first turn.  Firefly Star galloped on the heels of Molly Byrnes approaching the home turn; checking Tinker Luke which was forced wide, and severely checking Firefly Star and Molly Byrnes.  Jono's Express and Gotham Princess collided approaching the winning post. 

Molly Byrnes underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left and right hindlegs, and a left foreleg stopper injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Gotham Princess underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg pencil/whip injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr S Lithgow, the representative of Gotham Princess, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  After viewing the head-on footage, acting on their own observations and hearing submissions from Mr Lithgow, Stewards took no further action.

Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr R Camilleri who advised that Slingshot Angel was scratched in accordance with the rules, due to a triangle injury. It was noted with the scratching of Slingshot Angel ,vacant boxes were then either side of Zipping Zarbo which is trained from the same complex as Slingshot Angel. Mr Camilleri's explanation was accepted.
