Shima Shine was slow to begin.
Terren's Close, Shanlyn Deano, Mepunga Pegasus and Sweet As Emm collided approaching the first turn checking Mepunga Pegasus and Sweet As Emm. Terren's Close and Shanlyn Deano collided on the first turn. Terren's Close faltered on the second turn and tailed off. Jax Bale and Shima Shine collided approaching the home turn. Mepunga Pegasus and Jax Bale collided approaching the winning post.
Terren's Close underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
