Steward's Report
National Level - Late scratching at 6.15pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to dehydration. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Parrotfish Fozz and Ocean Star collided approaching the first turn. Wild Slammer and Harston Flare collided on the first turn. Toolleen Town, Parrotfish Fozz, Ocean Star, Indominus and Sweet Harriet collided on the first turn checking Parrotfish Fozz. Harston Flare, Toolleen Town and Ocean Star collided approaching the home turn checking Indominus and Sweet Harriet severely checking Toolleen Town. Parrotfish Fozz, Ocean Star and Harston Flare collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Ocean Star, Sweet Harriet and Indominus collided entering the home straight. Ocean Star and Indominus collided several times in the home straight.
Toolleen Town underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Indominus underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the Trainers' request - no apparent injury was reported.
A post-race sample was taken from Wild Slammer - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr M.Giddings after it was established that he placed the greyhound Indominus in the incorrect box at the start of the event. Stewards took evidence from Mr Giddings and Stewards at the start. After considering all the evidence, Stewards charged Mr Giddings pursuant to GAR86(o) in that he placed the number seven (7) greyhound Indominus into box number six (6) which in the opinion of Stewards was negligent. Mr Giddings pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250.
