Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Sylvia's Delight was quick to begin. Market Jack was slow to begin. Barunga Bullet, Crymelon Tess and Stella Diamond collided approaching the first turn. Market Jack and Olin Bale collided approaching the first turn. Crymelon Tess and Juniper Bale collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Barunga Bullet and Stella Diamond collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Barunga Bullet. Barunga Bullet and Olin Bale collided several times in the home straight.

The muzzle of Market Jack became dislodged during the running of the event.

A post-race sample was taken from Wild Slammer - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr M.Giddings after it was established that he placed the greyhound Indominus in the incorrect box at the start of the event.  Stewards took evidence from Mr Giddings and Stewards at the start. After considering all the evidence, Stewards charged Mr Giddings pursuant to GAR86(o) in that he placed the number seven (7) greyhound Indominus into box number six (6) which in the opinion of Stewards was negligent. Mr Giddings pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250.
