Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Bronski Beat was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr B. Pursell, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the third turn.  After viewing all available video footage and taking into account the submissions of Mr Pursell, Stewards took no action in the matter.

New Punchline and Cha Cha Charlie collided soon after the start.  New Punchline, Cha Cha Charlie, I'm Easy Boys and Mepunga Pegasus collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Cha Cha Charlie and I'm Easy Boys.  Zipping Clifford, Fancy Francene and Havana Miss collided on the first turn.  Cha Cha Charlie and I'm Easy Boys collided approaching the second turn.  Fancy Francene and Havana Miss collided on the second turn.  Brady's Shout and Mepunga Pegasus collided on the fourth turn.  Mepunga Pegasus checked off Brady's Shout in the home straight.

Lucy's Milo crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Fernando's Riot and Run By Night.  Aston Dynamo, Lucy's Milo and Penta Allen collided on the first turn checking Aston Dynamo and Penta Allen, both raced wide as a result.  Avalanche and Run By Night collided on the first turn.  Fernando's Riot checked off Lucy's Milo approaching the second turn checking Sweet As Emm.  Avalanche and Penta Allen collided on the third turn.  Fernando's Riot checked off Lucy's Milo entering the home straight.

Penta Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to licensed trainers - Mr. Paul Abela (Aston Dynamo) and Mr. Anthony Azzopardi (Fernando's Riot) and reminded them both of their responsibilities to ensure they fully comply with the social distancing rules and policies when positioning themselves behind the boxes prior to the the running of racing events.

Yoel Bale  was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr G. Dailly, Representative of Yoel Bale regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Yoel Bale was charged with marring. Mr Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Yoel Bale is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
