Ruby Arizona checked off Pyrenees Max on the first turn, checking Ollie Mambo. Ruby Arizona and Ollie Mambo collided approaching the home turn. Read Alot visibly eased and turned its head in on the home turn. Read Alot and Pyrenees Max collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds. Sense Of Wonder, Read Alot and Pyrenees Max collided in the home straight, causing Pyrenees Max to fall.

Stewards spoke to Mr G Austin, the trainer of Read Alot, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Read Alot was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Austin pleaded guilty to the charge, Read Alot is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
