Stewards altered the closing time of kennelling and start time of the first race in accordance with GAR 31, due to the late arrival of several trainers who experienced significant traffic delays on-route to the track. The kennels closed at 2:23pm. The race start time was changed from 2:32pm to 2:40pm.

Dewana Mechanic and Dewana Step were slow to begin. Swift Binga and Dewana Step collided soon after the start. Roots Rock Riot and Lord Disick collided soon after the start. McIvor Ernie checked off Lord Disick approaching the first turn. Dewana Mechanic and Dewana Step collided on the first turn. Mountain and Lord Disick collided on the first turn and again entering the home straight. McIvor Ernie raced wide entering the home straight.

Superior Jacob and Destini Ninja were slow to begin.

Rockin' Richard and All Over Jack collided soon after the start. Rockin' Richard and Helen's Mate collided on the first turn checking Superior Jacob, Rockin' Richard and All Over Elly. Helen's Mate checked off Zulu Walk on the first turn checking Zulu Boy. Superior Jacob and Destini Ninja collided entering the home straight. All Over Elly raced wide entering the home straight.

Alita went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

Omar Little checked off Dewana Degoey soon after the start. Cosmic Katie and Dewana Degoey collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

All Inn Christy checked off Fletcher Jay approaching the first turn. Fletcher Jay and Aston Shadow collided on the home turn checking Aston Shadow. Fletcher Jay raced wide entering the home straight.

Aston Squire, Cracked Soda and Rezzie's Shout were slow to begin. Rotarua, G'day Muscle, Aston Squire, Cracked Soda, Rezzie's Shout and Cudgee's Jayne collided on the first turn checking G'Day Muscles, Aston Squire,Cracked Soda and Cudgee's Jayne. Cracked Soda and Cudgee's Jayne collided on the second turn. Aston Squire and Rezzie's Shout collided approaching the home turn. Horizon Princess raced wide entering the home straight.

Aston Astro was quick to begin.

Volcanic Lava checked off Midnight Titan on the first turn. Bags On Shazza checked off Shanlyn Rose on the first turn checking Resounding.

A post-race sample was taken from Chasin' Bobbi, winner of the event.

Mr. Changretta was slow to begin.

Blue Addition checked off Woolybully Keats soon after the start. Fernando's Flare checked off Manila Kampyon on the first turn checking Blue Addition, Mr. Changretta, Atlantic Jewel and Kelli Pochette.

A post-race sample was taken from Pictor Lucy, winner of the event.

Stacey Bott, O'Sullivan and Kraken Buster collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Stacey Bott checked off O'Sullivan on the second turn. O'Sullivan and Kraken Buster collided in the home straight. Black Treasure turned it's head outwards and visibly eased approaching the winning post.

Black Treasure underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Hansen, the trainer of  Black Treasure regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Black Treasure was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hansen pleaded guilty to the charge, Black Treasure is suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Tan Back Tan was slow to begin. Broadway Bullet checked off Durant on the first turn checking Tan Back Tan and severely checking Mepunga Holly and Moonie Convoy. Mepunga Holly and Broadway Bullet collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Mepunga Holly underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both thighs and the right wrist. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Moonie Convoy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A stand down period of 60 days was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Durant, winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Lyons, the trainer of Mepunga Holly and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.

Joking Bear checked off Aston Clurey on the first turn. Harston Flare and Joking Bear collided on the home turn. Rock Me Xanthe galloped on the heels of Harston Flare approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.

Harston Flare underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left biceps and left chest muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Hornet Hudson was slow to begin.

Hornet Hudson lost ground soon after the start and pulled up. Flame Slinger and All Inn Redman collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Flame Slinger and Paddy Lee collided in the home straight.

Hornet Hudson underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr. T. Boehmke, regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Hornet Hudson was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Boehmke pleaded guilty to the charge, Hornet Hudson must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
