A pre-race sample was taken from Frainy's Well.
Aston Shelly and Murmur were slow to begin.
Cloudy Diamond and Grindylow collided soon after the start. My Girl Kizzy and Cloudy Diamond collided soon after the start. Spicy Cupcake and Aston Shelly collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Belle Ali contacted the rail on the first turn and lost ground. Aston Shelly checked off Murmur on the first turn. Murmur marred and collided with Cloudy Diamond on several occassions in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Frainy's Well and Spicy Cupcake collided approaching the winning post.
Belle Ali underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported
Murmur underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Representative Mr Craig Solkhon regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Murmur was charged with marring. Mr Solkhon pleaded guilty to the charge, Murmur is suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a satisfactory trial, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
