A pre-race sample was taken from Dusty Rebel.
Pyrenees Max was quick to begin. Apple Valley and Two Chips were slow to begin. Dusty Rebel and Husky Freckle collided soon after the start checking Dusty Rebel. Dusty Rebel, Mepunga Fairy and Two Chips collided on the first turn. Pyrenees Max, Nicko Dancer and Husky Freckle collided approaching the home turn checking Nicko Dancer. Dusty Rebel, Nicko Dancer, Two Chips and Mepunga Fairy collided on the home turn checking Mepunga Fairy and causing Nicko Dancer to fall.
Nicko Dancer underwent a post-race veterinary examination and sustained an abrasion to the jaw. No stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Cullquin Finn, winner of the event.
