Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Short Tyson was slow to begin.

Swordfish Fozz, Just A Fidget, Baileys And Milk and Super Athletic collided soon after the start checking Swordfish Fozz, Just A Fidget and Baileys And Milk. Super Athletic, Zipping Reuben, Lucky Yap and Wishly Bale collided on the first turn checking Zipping Reuben which then collided with Just A Fidget and Swordfish Fozz. Short Tyson and Super Athletic collided approaching the home turn. Super Athletic raced wide on the home turn. Lucky Yap turned its head outwards, shifted up the track and collided heavily with Wishly Bale entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Super Athletic turned its head outwards and shifted up the track in the home straight. Wishly Bale and Lucky Yap collided in the home straight checking Lucky Yap. 

Lucky Yap underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hock however no stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to handler Ms D White, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Lucky Yap was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms White pleaded not guilty to the charge, Lucky Yap was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Super Athletic underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported, Trainer Mr P Pace declined the option of a re-vet. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr P Pace regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Super Athletic was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Pace pleaded guilty to the charge, Super Athletic is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Goggins was slow to begin.

Parumba Barty, Frainy's Well, Sense Of Wonder and Goggins collided soon after the start checking Frainy's Well and Goggins. Sense Of Wonder checked off Goggins on the first turn. Wee Fishin' and Parumba Barty raced wide on the home turn.

Fawn Regrets, Kareda Gold and Ultimate Amadeus collided soon after the start checking Kareda Gold. Last Night, Blackpool Remi and Ultimate Amadeus collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Maidenpool and Kareda Gold collided in the home straight.

Disco Riot - Trainer Mr P. Mathieson was queried regarding the ownership bona fides of the greyhound. Mr Mathieson's explanation was accepted. 

Debut Knight, Lea Arandt and Disco Riot collided soon after the start. Lea Arandt, Debut Knight and Aerolithology collided on the first turn checking Lea Arandt and Italia Bella which brushed the running rail and lost ground. Lea Arandt, Jazzy Arandt and Italia Bella raced wide on the home turn.

Italia Bella underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Master Cosmic galloped on the heels of Chill Winston approaching the home turn. Angry Answer raced wide on the home turn. Solar Life tired over the concluding stages of the race, shifted up the track and collided with Master Cosmic.

Solar Life underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.  Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr V. Millington regarding the greyhounds performance over the concluding stages of the event. After considering evidence from Mr Millington, watching the offical replays (head on and side on) and acting on their own observations Stewards issued a warning against the greyhound.

Anubis Al, Ninetymile Hawk, Why Not Pockets and Great Success collided approaching the first turn checking Ninetymile Hawk. White Cynder and Great Success raced wide on the home turn. Secret Thoughts checked off the heels off Great Success in the home straight.

Yondu and Perfect Chase went up with lids at the start. Big Baccala checked off Broken Pieces approaching the first turn. Honest Keithy, Broken Pieces and Perfect Chase collided on the first turn checking Broken Pieces and Perfect Chase. Big Baccala, Broken Pieces and Perfect Chase collided on the first turn checking Big Baccala and Broken Pieces. Honest Keithy and Yondu raced wide on the home turn. Uringa and Last Outlaw collided approaching the winning post.

Lochinvar Deus and Romanova were slow to begin and collided.

Close Encounter and Bob's Brew collided entering the back straight. Oddjob Lad and Bob's Brew collided in the back straight. Bob's Brew checked off Down Mexico Way on the second turn checking Romanova, Manny Allen and Oddjob Lad. Lochinvar Deus and Down Mexico Way collided on the home turn. Lochinvar Deus turn its head inwards in the home straight. Aston Lindop raced wide in the home straight.

Lochinvar Deus underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported, Trainer Mr R. Gladman declined the option of a re-vet. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr R Gladman regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Lochinvar Deus was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Gladman pleaded not guilty to the charge, Lochinvar Deus was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Zipping Navy was quick to begin. Riverdale Bear was slow to begin.

Tashendo and Fawn Illusion collided soon after the start checking Fawn Illusion. Fawn Illusion and Polly's Varcoe collided approaching the first turn checking Fawn Illusion. Polly's Varcoe and Tennyson Girl collided on the first turn severely checking Tennyson Girl who checked Yeppy Allen. Fawn Illusion and Polly's Varcoe collided on the home turn.

Tennyson Girl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

As the greyhounds were being boxed Grease Lightning broke away from its handler and ran free for a short distance prior to being recaptured. The loading process then continued and the race started without any further delay. Stewards spoke to handler Ms E. Frost who explained that Grease Lightning became fractious as the greyhounds were being loaded. Ms Frost's comments were noted and no action was taken. 

Miss Winks and Grease Lightning were quick to begin. Cairnlea Abby was slow to begin. 

Ringcraft, Where's Success and Miss Winks collided approaching the first turn checking Where's Success and Miss Winks. Dust Up and Aston Rose collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Golden Gift and Where's Success collided on the first turn checking Golden Gift and Cairnlea Abby. 

A post-race sample was taken from Grease Lightning - the winner of the event.

Golden Gift underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed
