Steward's Report
Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Short Tyson was slow to begin.
Swordfish Fozz, Just A Fidget, Baileys And Milk and Super Athletic collided soon after the start checking Swordfish Fozz, Just A Fidget and Baileys And Milk. Super Athletic, Zipping Reuben, Lucky Yap and Wishly Bale collided on the first turn checking Zipping Reuben which then collided with Just A Fidget and Swordfish Fozz. Short Tyson and Super Athletic collided approaching the home turn. Super Athletic raced wide on the home turn. Lucky Yap turned its head outwards, shifted up the track and collided heavily with Wishly Bale entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Super Athletic turned its head outwards and shifted up the track in the home straight. Wishly Bale and Lucky Yap collided in the home straight checking Lucky Yap.
Lucky Yap underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hock however no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Ms D White, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Lucky Yap was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms White pleaded not guilty to the charge, Lucky Yap was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Super Athletic underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported, Trainer Mr P Pace declined the option of a re-vet. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr P Pace regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Super Athletic was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Pace pleaded guilty to the charge, Super Athletic is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Reuben - the winner of the event.
