Steward's Report

Graphic Print and Vampire Vixen collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Especial One, Hardaway JaJay and Charlie Checker collided approaching the home turn. Kraken Maxi and Cloncurry Girl collided on the home turn. Especial One, Charlie Checker and Hardaway JayJay collided on the home turn checking Hardaway JayJay. Charlie Checker, Especial One, Graphic Print and Vampire Vixen collided entering the home straight severely checking Hardaway JayJay and causing Vampire Vixen to fall.

Vampire Vixen underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left hind shin soreness, an abrasion to the left hind toe and a laceration on the front of the right wrist. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to the handler Mr Malcolm Carr regarding an incident on the way to the boxes in which Cloncurry Girl became loose and made its way down the track. After considering all the evidence, Stewards charged Mr Carr with a breach of GAR 27 (1) in that he did not have proper control of a greyhound on a racecourse. The greyhound underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race. Stewards found Mr Carr guilty and fined him the sum of $100. In considering penalty, Stewards took into consideration Mr Carr's good record of 30 years in the industry.

A post race sample was taken from Cloncurry Girl - the winner of the event.
