Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful heatlh screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Dress code - All participants that are permitted on course, as per the attendance regulations, must be dressed in accordance with the dress code as set out in the rules (ie; black and whites) at all times – including kennelling. 

Self Assured and Graceful Gazelle were slow to begin.

Graceful Gazelle checked off Self Assured collided approaching the first turn. Full Moon Party and Kenzie Grace collided on the first turn checking Full Moon Party. Kenzie Grace visibly eased on the first turn.

Kenzie Grace underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind paw spike wound. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr M Meyer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Kenzie Grace was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Meyer pleaded guilty to the charge, Kenzie Grace must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Runaway Nurse was quick to begin.

Jimmy Cheesecake and Hyena Queen collided soon after the start checking Hyena Queen. Hyena Queen and Skating Queen collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.

A post-race sample was taken from Runaway Nurse - the winner of the event.

Crimson Knight crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Zipping Trent, Wild Slammer, Ride On and Cyclone Zara. Crimson Knight and Uptown Trixie collided on the first turn checking Crimson Knight and Cyclone Zara. Crimson Knight and Cyclone Zara collided in the home straight.

Kara The Escapee and Aston Jolie were quick to begin.

Star Ballerina and Bombardier King were slow to begin.

Fairytale Wish and Amp Meter collided approaching the first turn checking Amp Meter. Tiggerlong Rebel, Fairytale Wish and Follow The Que collided on the first turn checking Fairytale Wish. Tiggerlong Rebel and Follow The Que collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Amp Meter and Bombardier King collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Bombardier King contacted the rail approaching the home turn.

Mepunga Mila - Stewards queried representative Mr M. Lanigan regarding the change of form in the greyhound since it was beaten by 19 lengths at Horsham on 17/3/2020 and placed on a satisfactory trial. Mr Lanigan explained that subsequent to that meeting the greyhound was found to have a calf injury. Mr Lanigan's comments were noted. A post race sample was taken for analysis. 

Bombardier King underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury, a right torn nail and a left hind spike wound to the paw. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Zipping Hector and Uringa were slow to begin.

Courtney Lee underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Corazon De Leon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions and brusing to the left shoulder and left hindleg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
