Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Laughed A Lot.
Crackerjack Jaws was slow to begin. Mad Goosey was very slow to begin (3L). Silver Arapaho and Aston Mekong collided approaching the first turn. Silver Arapaho, Victory Chico and Mad Goosey collided on the first turn severely checking Victory Chico and Silver Arapaho. Victory Chico and Silver Arapaho collided approaching the home turn. Laughed A Lot eased approaching the home turn. Aston Mekong clipped the heels of Laughed A Lot on the home turn. Aston Mekong and Another Episode collided on the home turn. Sense Of Wonder and Aston Mekong collided on the home turn and entering the home straight. Laughed A Lot and Mad Goosey collided entering the home straight.
Laughed A Lot underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted after race 6. Laughed A Lot was found to have split webbing to the left hind paw, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. B. Klemke, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Laughed A Lot was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Klemke pleaded not guilty to the charge, Laughed A Lot was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
