Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Wee Fishin' and Suited Kings were slow to begin. Arandt went up with the lids and lost ground (1L).

Andrew Morrison was issued with a warning after the greyhound Och Eye Mum was negligently (GAR 86(o) placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Club Official Noel Thornton was reminded of their responsibilities after the greyhound was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration and remediation. 

Zombie Hunter – New declared weight of 29.2 kg, last raced at 27.7kg.

Silver Arapaho and Olin Bale were quick to begin. Always Innocent, Dinner Roll and Zombie Hunter were slow to begin.

Olin Bale, Blackpool Holly, Silver Arapaho and Paisley Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Silver Arapaho and Paisley Bale. Silver Arapaho checked off Olin Bale on the first turn and collided with Paisley Bale and Unknown Warrior. Olin Bale raced wide on the home turn.

 Hillbilly Road was slow to begin.

Piper's Unicorn, Catch Kate and Patricia Mary collided soon after the start checking Catch Kate. Blackpool Alfie, Zetland County and Tinker Cher collided approaching the first turn checking Zetland County. Piper's Unicorn, Limburg Special and Catch Kate collided on the first turn checking Catch Kate. Blackpool Alfie, Piper's Unicorn, Catch Kate and Hillbilly Road collided entering the home straight causing Hillbilly Road to fall. Zetland County raced wide on the home turn.

Hillbilly Road underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a mild thoraco-lumbar injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

The start of this event was delayed approximately four minutes due to greyhounds 1, 3, 5 and 7 having to be removed from the starting boxes after it was determined the number three (3) greyhound Dreamliner was placed in the incorrect starting box. These four greyhounds underwent veterinary examinations and were passed suitable to race. At a subsequent inquiry evidence was taken from the Starter, Steward at the start and the Trainer of Dreamliner, Mr Kevin Quinn. After considering all the evidence Mr Quinn pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to GAR86(o) in that he placed the number three (3) greyhound Dreamliner into box number four (4) which in the opinion of Stewards was negligent. Mr Quinn was fined $200.

Zipping Ester turned in the box and lost significant ground. Pyrenees Classic checked off Saint Ray approaching the first turn. Saint Ray, Pyrenees Inferno and Micky Rads collided on the first turn checking Pyrenees Inferno, Dreamliner and Micky Rads which raced wide. Dreamliner collided with Rapid Rock on the first turn checking Dreamliner and Micky Rads. Pyrenees Inferno and Dreamliner raced wide on the home turn.

Zipping Ester underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Zipping Ester - Turned in the boxes and in the opinion of Stewards took no competitive part in the race. Stewards considered the submissions from Trainer Mr A.Wilcock in regards to the circumstances of this incident. Stewards determined that the releveant penalty should be imposed and as such the greyhound was placed on a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 52(1).

Toyed – Late scratching at 12.20pm when Trainer Mr C. Capuano reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Equals Two and Lea Arandt were slow to begin.

Wild Slammer went up with lids at boxrise and lost ground. Wild Slammer, Lea Arandt and Riverdale Bluey collided approaching the first turn. Lancashire checked off Tigers Nineteen on the first turn. Riverdale Bluey and Equals Two raced wide on the home turn.

Marshall Flyer underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury and a right triangle muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr K. Lloyd in relation to the below market expectation performance of the greyhound in the event. Mr Lloyd stated that the greyhound was a shorter price than it should have been and that the greyhounds immediate racing future with the kennel will be evaluated.

Lektra Loopy was slow to begin.

Daisy Hill Lad checked off the heels of Scott Confusion on the first turn and collided with Tinker Cass. Maximum Sarahand Lektra Loopy collided on the first turn. Daisy Hill Lad, Tinker Cass and Lektra Loopy raced wide on the home turn. Scott Confusion and Miss Adelaide collided in the home straight.
