Ashby Star checked off Jack's Gone Wild collided on the first turn and collided with Dinner Roll which fell, severely checking Bonnie Girl. Ashby Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination was found to have a left monkey muscle injury A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to both Mr Boehmke and Mr Meyer regarding no handler being engaged for the greyhound Murder Nova. After speaking with both parties it appeared a break down in communication occurred regarding the engagement, and another participant was engaged to handle at late notice. Stewards reminded both parties of their responsibilities to engage, and fulfil engagements for handling greyhounds.

Super Normal was quick to begin. Unknown Warrior was slow to begin.
