Claretown Clyde was slow to begin.
Dee Runk, Speedway Kid and Haggis Lad collided soon after the start checking Haggis Lad. No Mower and Speedway Kid collided approaching the first turn. Dee Runk, Speedway Kid, Naughty And Nice and No Mower collided on the first turn checking Dee Runk and No Mower. Dee Runk, Haggis Lad and No Mower collided approaching the home turn checking Dynamo's Lady and severely checking Dee Runk. Haggis Lad checked off No Mower approaching the home turn. Claretown Clyde and Haggis Lad collided approaching the home turn. Speedway Kid eased and collided with Naughty And Nice approaching the home turn checking Speedway Kid and Ceejay Whim. Ceejay Whim galloped on the heels of Speedway Kid approaching the home turn. Speedway Kid and Naughty And Nice collided entering the home straight.
Stewards spoke to G. Hansen the representative of the greyhound Speedway Kid. Speedway Kid was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left quadriceps, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Speedway Kid with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
