Steward's Report
Super Attitude, Rocky Pie and Waltz On Bye were slow to begin.
Rocky Pie crossed in soon after the start checking Teardrop. No Standing and Flojo Mikado collided approaching the first turn checking No Standing. Poppo's Darling and Patient Panda collided on the first turn. No Standing, Super Attitude and Teardrop collided on the first turn checking Super Attitude and Teardrop. Rocky Pie visibly eased and turn its head outwards approaching the second turn checking Flojo Mikado. Poppo's Darling visibly eased approaching the second turn. No Standing checked off Rocky Pie in the back straight.
Poppo's Darling underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 7, no apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to Mr Trevor Whitford, the trainer of Poppo's Darling regarding its performance approaching the second turn. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Poppo's Darling must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Rocky Pie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 6. Rocky Pie was found to have a spike wound to the left hind paw. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Robert Conway, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Rocky Pie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Conway pleaded not guilty to the charge, Rocky Pie was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Flojo Mikado - the winner of the event.
