Superior Dimples was slow to begin.
Ishmy Dozer and Armageddon Arby collided soon after the start. Metric Converse and Wolfie's Swagger collided on the first turn checking Metric converse. Quintana Jive checked off Armageddon Arby on the first turn causing Quintana Jive to cross out, severely checking Wolfie's Swagger and Quintana Jive. Snap Decision faltered approaching the home turn. Elite Gift and Armageddon Arby collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Quintana Jive and Wolfie's Swagger collided approaching the home turn. Ishmy Dozer and Metric Converse collided approaching the home turn checking Metric Converse, Quintana Jive and Wolfie's Swagger. Elite Gift and Armageddon Arby collided on the home turn.
Snap Decision underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 7. Snap Decision was found to have a spike wound to the right hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Trevor Whitford, the trainer of Snap Decision regarding its performance approaching the home turn. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Snap Decision must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
