Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 33 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees.
Crown Knox was slow to begin. Can't Spell was very slow to begin (3L).
Kareda Queen and Fyodor Bale collided approaching the first turn. Call Me Silk and Tinker Cher collided approaching the home turn checking Call Me Silk and Ocean Star. Hi Calling eased approaching the home turn and collided with Fyodor Bale. Ocean Star checked off Hi Calling on the home turn. Call Me Silk checked off Ocean Star entering the home straight checking Kareda Queen. Hi Calling and Tinker Cher collided in the home straight.
Hi Calling underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist injury and a right sartorius muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr C Trenerne the trainer of Hi Calling regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Hi Calling was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Trenerne pleaded guilty to the charge, Hi Calling is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
